Six gold medals for Godako Boxing in Eger

Four athletes from the Transylvanian Godako Boxing Sports Club participated in the international Eger Cup. The result: seven matches, six gold medals, and one silver medal.

The Eger Cup, with the participation of athletes from eight countries, took place on October 6th and 7th. Representing the Transylvanian Godako Boxing Sports Club – Felcsút SK, four athletes competed: Csiki Róbert in the adults’ category, Mailát András in the juniors, Srof Kevin in the schoolboy’s category, and Tallósi Vanessza, who competed on Friday in the schoolgirl’s category and on Saturday in the juniors.

On the first day, in the schoolgirl’s category, Tallósi Vanessza (60 kg) won against Németh Barbara, while Srof Kevin (40 kg) defeated Hómai Patrik. Mailát András (63 kg) faced Ireland’s Dylen Rockett in the junior competition and maintained control throughout the match, winning decisively by unanimous decision. Csiki Róbert (60 kg) also dominated in the adults’ category, defeating Poland’s Jakub Palka by unanimous decision.

On Saturday, Mailát András had no opponent in his weight category, and Csiki Róbert’s opponent withdrew from the fight. Srof Kevin won by unanimous decision against Baráth Nándor. Tallósi Vanessza made her debut in the junior category and had a very close match against Greece’s Paraskevi Tsakalelli, with the opponent ultimately being declared the winner by the judges, although the decision could have gone the other way. Therefore, athletes from the Transylvanian Godako Boxing Sports Club won five out of six matches in the ring, with one match ending in a withdrawal.
